Hi,
I might look like a boxer but I think I’m a person. I hang out with my Papa and Mommy and look forward to overnight visits by the grandchildren. Do you know that they compare me to “Nana” in Peter Pan because I’m on duty between their beds at night? I want to do everything the kids do. Everyone is my best friend because I really get along with everyone, dogs and even cats. People talk about how I am sweet, loving and playful.
When I hear the word “beach”, I’m alert and prance with anticipation. I might be eight years old but you should see me chase the sea birds and then take a refreshing swim in the surf. If I’m invited, I like to go for a boat ride too. Once I saw swimming pigs and another day I sniffed some pet nurse sharks in the Bahamas.
At home, I’m usually much too busy to nap during the day because I am on the lookout for iguanas and manatees. Of course, I look forward to my walks with Popa and some times I have to remind Mommy that it is dinnertime. Dinner time reminds me of food. I appreciate every tidbit my Popa secretly slips me and then I look forward to the official treats Mommy puts in my dish, especially ice cream.
I don’t know which holiday is my favorite because I get presents for both Christmas and my birthday. You would be amazed to see me joyfully yet gently open my presents. I have learned which ones are mine and I leave the others alone. I always have a hamburger birthday cake with candles to celebrate my birthday with the grandchildren. They usually wrap up doggie treats for my presents and then, of course, I open them myself. It’s difficult for me to watch others open presents because I want one too.
Come on over some day and I’ll show you my toys and introduce you to my Papa and mommy and my kids, Corinne, Camille and John. They always thought I was a winner but now they know it!
Happily,
Goldie

Knowles Animal Clinics is announcing the second annual “Cutest Dog and Cat of the Year Award” in an effort to raise money for Diabetes research.
Dr. Wise’s two sons, Andy and Scott, both have diabetes and he asks that all clients of Knowles Animal Clinics participate in this fun event, with 100% of the proceeds going to a worthy cause:
There is a tremendous amount of research being done on diabetes and great strides are being made in the treatment and cure for the disease. But like everything else, it takes money to fund the projects. That is why we at Knowles Animal Clinics are launching the first annual cutest cat and dog award contest. Every penny donated will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). There will be one dog and one cat winner and they will reign for one year in that role. It should be fun and will raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.
With all of your help, my sons and millions of diabetic patients all over the world will be given the gift of health and a return of many of the freedoms that they lost to diabetes once a cure is found.
You can read the rest of Dr. Wise’s letter to support this campaign here.
