Dr. David T. Wise went to undergraduate school at the University of Georgia from 1965-1969 and graduated with a BSA in agriculture. Dr. James H. Block went to undergraduate school at the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor in Science in 1968 and 1970. He also continued on to Veterinary school at the University of Illinois and graduated in 1972.
Dr. Block is involved in many organizations including the South Florida Veterinary Medical Association where he was president in 1991. Also, The Rotary International for 25 years where he was club president in 1985, and the Zoological Society of Florida for 10 years and was on the Board of Governors. Dr. Lois Sargent is a part-time veterinarian at Knowles Animal Clinics-Central where she works primarily the emergency shifts. However, she brings a unique style of treatment as she practices homeopathy and acupuncture on a variety of patients.After completing veterinary school, Dr. Sargent studied acupuncture with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, (IVAS) from 1997-1998 and was certified in 1998. In addition, she studied classical homeopathy with Dr. Richard Pitcairn, DVM from 2000-2001. Certification as a veterinary homeopath is currently pending as the process can take years to complete. We regularly undergo inspections by AAHA to ensure that we comply with the association's high quality standards of care. These standards cover nearly every aspect of our hospital, including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, patient care, cleanliness, client service, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, and anesthesiology. Approximately 17 percent of animal hospitals in North America are accredited by AAHA.
