Veterinary Doctor - Dr. LaShonn McNair

Dr. LaShonn McNair went to undergraduate school at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Ms and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She continued on to professional school at Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2004.

Dr. McNair is currently a member of the AVMA since 2004. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. since 1997 and Omega Tau Sigma Vet Fraternity since 2000.

Dr. McNair’s experience prior to veterinary school was mostly involving research during her summers both at the University of Missouri-Columbia and at Cornell University.

Her licenses include New York and Georgia state licenses since 2004 and her Florida state veterinary license since 2005. She completed a surgery and internal medicine internship with Animal Hospital of Pittsford/Animal Emergency Service/Veterinary Specialists of Rochester in Rochester, NY in 2005.

Dr. McNair’s special interests are in small animal medicine including pathology and dermatology.

Dr. McNair is the proud mother of an infant son. She owns two mixed breed dogs named Comona and Michelob. In her spare time, Dr. McNair enjoys writing poems, short stories, songs, drawing, peer counseling and survival camping. She also enjoys spending as much time with her son as possible.
