Jane Ann Knowles Wise
Jane Ann Knowles Wise was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Everglades High School for Girls. She was a Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Georgia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1971. Later that year, she married Dr. David Wise, whom she met at college.
They moved to New York City, where Mrs. Wise was a copy editor for medical journals at Rockefeller University, while Dr. Wise completed his veterinary internship.
In 1973, Dr. and Mrs. Wise moved to Miami. In 1974, they opened Knowles Snapper Creek Animal Clinic in a small, strip shopping center. In 1975, they moved Snapper Creek to its present location. Mrs. Wise left the practice to raise her two boys, Andy (1975) and Scott (1978). She also spent a great deal of her time volunteering for the Junior League of Miami and Beaux Arts at the University of Miami.
As her children got older, Mrs. Wise went back to work at the clinics. She started out managing the payroll for their seven clinics and later took on the title of Comptroller. At present, Mrs. Wise is the Vice President at Knowles Animal Clinics.
In her free time, Mrs. Wise enjoys her two grandchildren – Mary Drew and Hayes David – who live in Atlanta. She can also be found in Coral Gables, at her son Scott’s restaurant, Mash Potatoes.
